Barefoot Books are published by a small independent children’s book publisher based in Cambridge, MA, begun by two working mothers 15 years ago. Barefoot Books brings authors and illustrators together to produce high quality children's literature which feature rich language and beautiful art that engage a child's imagination. Multicultural stories introduce children to cultures around the world, create a sense of global community, and convey universal messages. I have been a stallholder since May 2007 and I would be happy to use my experiexnce and background as a children's librarian (for 8 years I was a children's librarian at a private school library grades K-8) to help you start your journey as a Barefoot Books Stallholder (home-based bookseller). The booklovers in your life deserve the best the world of children's literature can offer and Barefoot Books is where you will find it! Some of the things that I believe make Barefoot different from other direct-sales opportunities are that there are no sales quotas/targets, there is no high pressure to sell (just incentives if you do achieve certain goals) and it is extremely flexible. You can use the fabulous discounts and free books for your own family and friends, or run Stallholding as a part-time or full-time career. It’s up to you. And you don’t need any previous experience. There is a lot of support from your team leader, your sponsor, and the Barefoot administrative team. Stallholders help and support one another rather than compete with one another - it is a real community! The company also makes the stallholders feel vested in the company by seeking out, listening to and utilizing the stallholder's opinions about the company. If you decide to become a Barefoot stallholder you will become a member of a very supportive and inclusive community.
